Our In-Progress Solar System Project!
Santa Cruz Gives is project-based. Camphill California’s project this year is to complete our solar project and install solar panels on our new aging in place home at Camphill. Help us to raise $25,000 – a critical goal that will ensure our capacity to bring the power of solar to Camphill and ensure a bright future for our community!
Your donation towards this project will help us in the following ways:
- Help us to reduce our carbon footprint and sustain our future
- Protect our properties from blackouts (once batteries are installed)
- Serve as a model of sustainability to other Camphill communities
- Provide stability and continuity of care in all our homes
- Save us hundreds of thousands of dollars in energy costs!
Our Initial Solar System Fundraising Effort!
Our goal is to install an entire Solar System and convert all eight of our homes to solar power. We would also like to prepare all our properties for future installation of batteries in order to reduce our use of fossil fuels in generators during blackouts.
Thanks to all of your hard work and generous donations, we have managed to reach our initial goal and have raised an incredible $267,000! This money will go towards recognising our dream of having Camphill Communities California run entirely on solar power.
We are enormously grateful to all who have helped bring this to fruition. Your warm contributions will help Camphill California save $770,000 over 25 years and ensure we are playing a key role in building a greener planet for generations to come.
