Anya Hobley

Executive Co-Director, Director of Development & Outreach

Anya is originally from England, and is a graduate of Summerfield Waldorf School in Santa Rosa, California. Anya has studied Eurythmy in Spring Valley, taught in Waldorf early childhood programs in two schools. Anya has a B.S. in Health Education from California State University, Northridge with an emphasis on Community Health and Health Disparities. Anya joined Camphill Communities California (CCC) in July, 2010, and completed her training in Social Therapy at Camphill Communities California in 2013. She has completed a certification in Fundraising and Development through UC Davis Extension and is the Director of Development & Outreach for Camphill California. In addition to her work in development, Anya is Executive Co-Director, the Licensee for Camphill Communities California, and is a member of Camphill California’s Board of Directors. Anya has served in various roles at CCC, including House Manager, Supported Living Program Manager and Certified Administrator for Camphill California. Anya values health equity, social justice, compassionate Communication, Restorative Justice and diversity training and volunteerism. She has volunteered for numerous organizations in addition to Camphill; including a Self-Determination program in Watts, AIDS Project Los Angeles’ Red Circle Project, Finding Sophia in Mexico, and the Homeless Garden project in Santa Cruz.

Ala Jacob

Executive Co-Director, Director of Admissions

Ala Jacob is originally from Poland and has lived in Camphill places for most of her adult life. Ala started her Camphill journey in England as a young coworker and continued in Beaver Run Camphill Special School in Pennsylvania, where she trained in Curative Education and Rhythmical Massage. She has her B.A. In Human Development and MA in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Mentoring and Human Relations from Prescott College. Ala is the Executive Co-Director of Camphill Communities California, Director of Admissions, and an Inclusive Social Development training teacher. Ala serves as an officer for the Camphill Association of North America and is an Inner Community member.

Philipp Jacob

Director
Finance, Student & Volunteer Service, Music

Philipp is one of CCC’s Directors and he carries the consciousness for finances and student & volunteer processes. Besides working in the Finance Office, he serves on the Finance and the Investment Committee. Philipp oversees the music activities in CCC, is teaching in the Inclusive Social Development program, and co-carries the Camphill Academy in CCC. He lives in Evergreen with his family as well as friends with developmental disabilities.

Kristin Albanese

Non-resident member

Kristin is a Camphill parent with a strong history and career in marketing, sales and business development. Kristin has a strong desire to bring more community awareness to Camphill California as an organization. Through current relationships and the ability to cultivate new ones. “You must see to believe” is her personal message for people who inquire about Camphill. Kristin is a strong advocate and champion for Camphill, and has also volunteered with empowering youth in the Special Olympics and Angels on Stage in Santa Clara County. She is determined and passionate about a community that can bring adults with developmental disabilities a life full of love and opportunities. Kristin hopes more adults like her daughter Alexis will be able to have the ability to and opportunity to thrive in a way that was not imaginable.

Camphill Communities California board member Odile Caroll

Odile Carroll

M.S. Non-resident member, Board President,

Odile is a former coworker and family member at Heartbeet Lifesharing, a Camphill community in Northern Vermont. She holds a BA from Vassar College, and has just completed her degree in Community Development at UC-Davis, where she wrote her master’s thesis on the effects of recent policy changes on everyday living at Heartbeet. Odile is currently applying for combined MSW/PhD programs in Social Work and Social Welfare, and is a graduate teaching assistant at UC-Davis.

Sarah Cruse

Non-resident member

Sarah Cruse comes with over 20 years of experience working with and supporting people. Her experience spans from supporting youth and adults in full care placement homes, youth probation camps and the foster care system, to working in the public school systems supporting youth with behavior support and drug rehabilitation. Sarah has worked in the non-profit sector supporting communities in forgiveness practices as well as mindfulness education. As a young adult she discovered the healing power of creative expression and authentic voice. She has herself chosen the road of expression as a spoken word artist, actress and singer. Sarah is deeply committed to the road of self-expression as a pathway towards healing and supports people and communities in activating their own inner creative pathways. She is currently a practitioner of energetic medicine, sound healing, and trauma clearing. Sarah believes in the brilliance of collective intelligence and lives with a curiosity that continues to invite her into places and spaces that reveal the genius and the generosity of the collective heart that guides us all. She is grateful to be able to contribute to and learn from Camphill Communities California.

Cory Ray has a B.A. in Management and is a Property Manager and Santa Cruz resident. Cory is sister to a former CCC friend, and is a great networker and supporter of CCC and its work.

Lucy was a founding board member of CCC, and brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her roles in relation to CCC. She is currently an Independent Consultant, and serves on the Finance and Development committees of the board.

Sue serves on the Development Committee, and is the current Chair of the Gala Committee. Sue is a committed fundraiser, has a great head for business and is an unwavering support to CCC.

Peter is an IT manager and consultant with over 20 years of experience in the technology field. Peter is a problem-solver and asks a lot of good questions, and is a great asset to the board.

Glenn Yarmeak

Glenn is a CPA and a Senior level financial manager and consultant. Glenn is on the Finance Committee of the board and is a Santa Cruz resident. He is one of the longest standing members of CCC’s board.

Bryan Zecca

Resident-Member, Self-Advocate

Bryan has been a volunteer at CCC since 2005. His mother, Christine Zecca, was a founding Board member, and he is the first self-advocate to join our board. He is a former resident of Camphill Aberdeen, Camphill Special School and Camphill Soltane, and brings a new perspective to the board.
